Wow. What. A. Day. Women on Top Summit 2025 was everything we dreamed of – energising, empowering, confidence-boosting and then some. The kind of day that fills notebooks with mantras, quotes and those scribbles you know you’ll want to return to again and again.
This year, we raised the bar: a new venue, new workshops, bigger energy. egg head Kylie set out with a vision of connecting 300 women in true egg community style – and with the right team beside her, she delivered. The result? A powerhouse programme of speakers covering everything from finance to confidence, visibility to social media, scaling to succeeding in business.
The Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh proved the perfect setting: grand, elegant and buzzing. Mairi Helena’s vibrant prints dressed the main stage, while a piper and harpist set the tone as women arrived in their hundreds, ready for a day of inspiration, connection and courage.
The Exchange area became the beating heart of the day. Laughter, hugs, storytelling and tears all flowed freely, alongside coffee, pastries and impromptu conversations. It was a space to be authentically present, to remember who we are and to realise just how much we share.
From businesses to charities, women showcased their products and passions – handmade soaps to alcohol free G&Ts, design and women’s health. Our thanks goes to all our amazing exhibitors. Headshots snapped by Jennifer McLuckie, live poetry from Purple Poetry, illustrations, makeovers and colour analysis brought even more sparkle.

Voices that Stayed with Us
Where to begin with the speakers? Each one left a mark, but here are just a few of the gems we carried home from the keynote speakers and panel:

Lauren Currie OBE, Founder of UPFRONT
- “Stop saying sorry when you’re not sorry.”
- “The problem isn’t that women lack confidence. The problem is that confidence in women isn’t rewarded.”
- “What would you do if you genuinely had the support of every single woman in this room?”
- “The feeling of feeling like an imposter is real, being an imposter is not.”
- “Stay standing tall. Tall poppy syndrome is real - when women succeed, other women criticise them to bring them back down to size, out of jealousy. The answer is to dismantle the internalised misogyny within us all.”
- “Back yourself. Take yourself seriously. Because if you don’t, no one else will. You deserve success.”

Pippa Murray, Founder of Pip & Nut
- “Take money carefully. Interrogate what you really need to get to where you want to be. Find great people and great investors so they can add value as well as the cash."
- “Competition creates healthy tension. It gives me hunger. I look forward, not backward.”
- “Run your own race. Stay consistent and avoid too many twists and turns. Play the same message over and over again until people remember it.”
- “Make marketing memorable. It’s all in the creative – make people stare and feel something. Any emotion is better than none.”
- “If you’ve got a product, really focus on it. Don’t move too quickly into something new just for the sake of change. Build a rock-solid foundation for your core offering first."
- “Everyone has a story. Forget that voice in your head telling you different. Sharing your story is a great tool to amplify your message.”

Olivia Jenkins, Founder of D.Louise Jewellery
- “Be authentic. Someone can copy your Instagram, or your work, but they can’t copy who you are as a person.”
- “Keep it simple: start with your why. Once you know that, you’ll find your audience and understand who you’re really talking to.”
- “When you post on social media, stop thinking about you. Focus on who you’re speaking to - it’s about the bigger picture.”
- “Reframe the metrics. It’s not just about likes and comments. Success might be the number of speaking invitations you get, the messages you receive or the people you’ve helped by sharing your story.”
- “Be world-class at what you do before you try to grow or diversify your product.”

Rachel Harris, Founder of Accountant She
- “Don’t bake the cake – write the recipe. Even Mary Berry would burn out if she tried to bake them all herself. Instead, become the recipe writer. Build it around your values and beliefs, then step back, test it and refine until you’ve created the perfect recipe.”
- “Every time you fail, you have an opportunity to not just think about it but take something really tangible from it [to move forward].”
- “Lean into failure. Look at the flops as well as the wins. Ask what worked, what didn’t and analyse it all.”

Jo MacSween, Leadership Coach & Vistage Group Chair:
- “Flip self-doubt into ‘I’ll never be complacent.’ Progress over perfection.”
- “Keep evolving. Be the master of reinvention – like David Bowie.”
- “The phoenix often rises from the ashes.”
- “Surround yourself with the right people. The ones who are right for you now may not always be, but they’ll always leave an imprint.”
Marie Owen, Founder & CEO of LS Productions:
- “Don’t run a marathon with a stone in your shoe. Deal with the small things now.”
- “You’re not the book of all the answers – give your team the autonomy.”
- “Own your opinion, you’re the visionary, you’re the founder. Your gut is really important”
- “Life is a journey of learning.”
- “Less talk, more action.”
Gilly Bain, YOUR GB:
- “Reframe imposter syndrome. Accept it. That uncomfortable feeling fades the more we talk.”
- “Sometimes growth means disconnecting from parts you need to. For me, the catalyst was pregnancy. I shared procedures, and in doing so, I wrote the ‘recipe book’ for others to follow.”

Movement, Momentum and Magic
Co-host Caroline Blair kept the energy sky-high, while Gym on the Square delivered a movement break that had everyone smiling (and squatting). Throughout the day, conversations sparked potential collaborations, ideas and friendships that may well reshape businesses and lives.

The event closed with a well-deserved gin and tonic from Edinburgh Gin, but the real buzz was in what people carried out the door: fresh confidence, new networks and a renewed belief in their own stories.
Thank You to Our Sponsors
None of this would have been possible without our incredible headline sponsors, organisations who share our values and truly champion our mission. Their belief in putting people first helped make this year’s Summit extraordinary.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to Royal Bank of Scotland, FreeAgent Accounting Software, Niksen Property, Melville Independent Plc, Orb Group & YOUR GB Event Design for standing alongside us and supporting egg in such a meaningful way. These companies all have vision, heart and a genuine commitment to lifting up women, entrepreneurs and small businesses across Scotland.

And finally…
As one speaker said: “Every young girl is born with all the confidence she needs – and then someone takes it away. But one person, one moment, can change the course of that confidence forever.”
The Women on Top Summit 2025 reminded us that change begins when women come together, cheer each other on and tell their stories with pride.
We left exhausted. We left energised. And above all, we left knowing: when women come together, magic happens.
