Tell us about your role as Senior Paralegal at Gilson Gray.

I handle purchase and sale transactions for homes all over Scotland, from when a client's offer is accepted to the day they collect their keys. It's a fast-paced environment where deadlines are crucial, but the excitement and my incredible team make it all worthwhile.

Why did you choose this career path?

I've always had a keen interest in law, particularly in property. I was around during the property boom and loved every minute of it. My experience has allowed me to refurbish and sell a couple of properties, using the knowledge I gained to its best advantage.

How can you help someone?

I pride myself on being approachable. I understand that buying a home can be stressful, whether it's your first or tenth. I encourage my clients to ask any questions they have to help alleviate their concerns. There's almost always a solution to every problem. I love helping clients navigate home-buying.

Your top tips?

Trust your solicitor to guide you through the process—they're there to help. When requested, be sure to provide as much information as possible.

Your greatest achievement or regret?

My greatest achievements are undoubtedly my beautiful daughters and my husband. Regrets? I have none. Life will have its mistakes, but we learn and move on.

Your inspiration?

My mum, without a doubt. She taught me to be confident, resilient, and most importantly, kind. No matter the hurdles.

Best thing about Edinburgh?

I love food and wine, so the vast array of cafes and restaurants is a huge plus. Edinburgh is a beautiful city with many different places to try, and I love that it's not too large—you can travel from one area to another in a fairly short time.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Italy... I've only been once, but I plan to go back as soon as I can. My husband once surprised me with a trip to Sorrento. It felt like an instant had passed from sitting at my desk at work to sitting on a balcony overlooking the town of Sorrento, watching the world go by.

The best things in life are… free and mainly consist of time with my family and friends, taking time out with each other.

Where will you be in five years from now?

Sitting on that sunny balcony in Sorrento, working remotely.
