Meet The Women Behind Eastern Western Motor Group

Posted in Egg Partners

Let’s be honest, buying a car can come with a LOT of questions. Finance, servicing, electric vs hybrid, company cars, benefit-in-kind… and that’s before you’ve even decided what you actually want to drive.

And while nobody should feel like they need to be a car expert before walking into a showroom, we know the experience doesn’t always feel as straightforward as it should. That’s something Eastern Western Motor Group wants to change.

The family-owned Scottish motor group has built its business around long-term relationships, looking after customers well beyond the moment the keys are handed over. At the heart of that are women like Victoria Steel and Lorna Whiteford, who have built successful careers in an industry traditionally dominated by men. And they’re on a mission to make everything from buying your next car to servicing, tax and company cars feel a whole lot less daunting.

So, we thought it was time you got to know them a little better…

First up, meet Victoria

Victoria Steel is Franchise Director for BMW & MINI at Eastern Western Motor Group and you may recognise her from our Women on Top Summit 2026.

She joined us on stage to share some of her story and looked pretty at home with 300 women looking back at her. Today, Victoria’s a confident leader who represents Eastern Western at major industry events. But, she hasn’t always been quite so comfortable in the spotlight.

Growing up, she was painfully shy. So shy, in fact, that on family holidays she'd ask her mum to ask other children if she could play with them.

As she progressed through the motor industry, she learned to walk into male-dominated rooms, speak with authority and, importantly, trust that her voice deserved to be heard.

Then, in 2019, life gave her a very different sense of perspective. Victoria suffered a burst appendix, developed sepsis and became seriously ill. Nearly losing her life made her reassess how much time she spent worrying, overthinking and holding herself back.

The result? A fearless attitude. Her advice when the nerves kick in is simple: “Remember that everyone else has their own insecurities too. Nobody knows what you were supposed to say. And sometimes you have to say yes, give it a go and work the rest out afterwards.”

Because confidence isn’t always something you wake up with one day. Sometimes you build it by doing the things that scare you a little. Victoria certainly has.

And then there's Lorna

While Victoria was taking to the Summit stage, you may also have spotted Lorna Whiteford and the rest of the Eastern Western team over in The Exchange, chatting to eggs about all things cars (while we swooned over those MINI suitcases).

As Group Marketing Manager at Eastern Western Motor Group, Lorna looks at the car-buying experience from a slightly different angle. For her, it all comes back to people and relationships.

Because buying a car is a big decision and rarely a one-off transaction. Circumstances change. Families grow. Businesses develop. The car that worked perfectly three years ago might not work for your life now. And when that happens, it helps to have someone you can go back to for straightforward advice without pressure, assumptions or a hard sell.

That relationship shouldn’t end when you drive out of the showroom either. From servicing and aftercare, Lorna is a big believer in looking after customers for the long term.

Got a car question? Ask it!

Buying or leasing? Petrol, hybrid or electric? What on earth is benefit-in-kind? And, what should servicing actually cost? It can feel overwhelming pretty quickly.

But you shouldn’t need to know the lingo before you ask for advice and you definitely shouldn’t have to nod along pretending you understand something when you don’t. That’s something both Lorna and Victoria feel strongly about.

Ask the question. Tell them what you actually need from your car, rather than what you think you should be looking for. The Eastern Western team can help with everything from finding and buying the right car to servicing.

No jargon for jargon’s sake. No silly questions. Just proper advice.

Why Eastern Western + egg?

At egg, we’re all about giving women access to good people, useful information and the confidence to make the decisions that are right for them, whether that’s around careers, business, money or, yes, their next car.

That’s where our partnership with Eastern Western Motor Group makes sense. They want the showroom experience to feel welcoming and straightforward, whether you’re choosing a family car or trying to work out whether a company car makes sense for your business. They cut through the jargon and explain what the different options actually mean.

We’re hugely grateful to Eastern Western Motor Group for supporting our Women on Top Summit and helping us create a day where women could ask questions, make connections and get useful answers.

But our relationship goes beyond one event. It’s about making it easier for our community to access people who know their stuff and who are happy to talk you through it.

You don’t need to know everything about cars. You just need to know you can ask.
