Think you could turn a blank canvas into a show home people instantly want to live in? Know your Scandi from your Japandi? More maximalist than minimalist? Or perhaps you simply have a brilliant eye for interiors and an instinct for what makes a space really work?
Whether you’re an interior designer, a serious interiors lover or simply someone bursting with creative ideas, we’ve got quite the opportunity for you!
egg has teamed up with St. Modwen Homes to help find a brilliant new interior design partner for its development in West of Scotland. And trust us, this is no ordinary interiors brief. The successful designer will get the chance to put their creative stamp on not one but two brand-new 4 and 5-bedroom show homes, helping shape the look and feel of St. Modwen Homes as it makes its move into Scotland.

Even better, our very own egg head Kylie Reid is joining the judging panel. And she knows exactly what she’ll be looking for.
“I want to see someone who’s bold enough to back their own ideas. I’ll be judging with my gut and thinking: does this room make me want to move in?”
In other words, this is not the time for copy-and-paste interiors. The judges want to see personality, fresh thinking and a creative who can turn the show homes into a home that makes people stop, look around and immediately imagine themselves living there.
A Scottish first
St. Modwen Homes may be new to Scotland, but it certainly isn’t new to housebuilding. Its expansion north of the border and into the West of Scotland makes this particular design brief even more exciting. These show homes are an opportunity to create something fresh for the brand, developing a contemporary look and feel that could help set the tone for future developments across the region. No pressure, then…

The Brief
You’ll be working across two substantial 4 and 5-bedroom show homes, each with its own personality and plenty of room to get creative. From colour palettes, textures and hero furniture to lighting, artwork and those smaller finishing touches that pull a room together, St. Modwen Homes wants to see a strong, cohesive vision throughout.

But beautiful interiors are only part of it. The winning design partner will also understand how to create homes that feel aspirational and liveable. You’ll work closely with the St. Modwen Homes site and sales teams to bring that vision to life, so they’re looking for someone who can combine creative flair with commercial understanding.
Think this could be the brief for you?
First up, you need to create your storyboard. Show the judges how you would bring both homes to life, from colours and textures to furniture, styling and décor. The two properties offer different design opportunities, so they want to see that you have the creative range to give each one its own distinct personality. Rather than designing for trends, they’re looking for interiors that feel contemporary, exciting and relatable.

How to enter
Simply put together your proposal and email it to [email protected] by 31st October 2026. This proposal will need to demonstrate your design concept and overall design vision, detailed cost schedule and company profile (an overview of your business or experience). You’ll also need to confirm that you have a UK-registered business as part of your application.
Once entries close, the judging panel will get to work reviewing all those creative ideas, with the successful design partner announced on 1st December 2026 and contacted directly by the St. Modwen Homes team.

Want to meet the team first?
Even better. St. Modwen Homes will be joining us in The Exchange at the Women on Top Summit 2026 in Edinburgh on 24th September. So, if your creative brain is already whirring, come along, meet Sales Director Louise Caldwell (one of the judges!) and the team, hear more about the opportunity, and get a feel for the people behind the brief before you put pen to paper.
Who knows? You could walk into the Summit with a storyboard idea and leave with the chance to become St. Modwen Homes’ new interior design partner for the West of Scotland.
