This is where we hosted our very first egg Business Club away day, trading screens for sunshine and Slack notifications for squeals of joy as we raced down Scotland’s longest water slide!
From the moment we arrived, the energy was electric. Sunshine overhead, laughter in the air, and just the right amount of nervous excitement. We kicked off with a warm welcome and dove straight into the fun, quite literally.
We climbed, ran, splashed, slipped and cheered our way through the day. It was everything we didn’t know we needed: time outdoors, blue skies, mud under our boots, water in our faces, and a whole lot of belly laughs. We challenged ourselves, faced a few fears (heights and I are still not on speaking terms!), and felt the creative cobwebs clear with every breath of fresh air.
This wasn’t just about having fun (although there was plenty of that), it was a powerful reminder of what happens when we step away from our desks. The kind of day founders don’t get often enough, but absolutely should. Because there’s something about unplugging that truly recharges your batteries.
Wild Cairns was founded by Scott and Gus, two adventure-lovers on a mission to get people moving, laughing and reconnecting with nature. Scott shared his story while we were there – from walking away from the construction industry to facing mental health challenges head-on and building something genuinely special. Today, Wild Cairns welcomes everyone, from school kids to startup founders, for unforgettable, soul-filling adventures.
We wrapped up our day the only way we know how, around a table, with coffee, cake and the kind of unfiltered conversation that reminds you you’re not alone in the ups and downs of running a business.
