Bold, courageous, authentic, open and kind, Edinburgh-born TV presenter and mental health speaker Gail Porter is an inspiring and resilient lady out to make a difference.
Diagnosed with alopecia in the mid-noughties, she embraced hair loss and opted not to wear wigs out of comfort - but also to raise much needed awareness of the condition. Gail has battled with depression, anorexia and suffered a breakdown. She’s been homeless too. But, against all the odds, she bounced back and now shares her experiences of mental health illness to help others. We couldn’t be more in awe of her.

More recently Gail was riding high after being selected as the Grand Marshal and leading NYC's 25th Annual Tartan Day Parade. She’s also going to be back performing at the Edinburgh Fringe this August. But what can we expect from her stand-up comedy show?
"Now that I'm on my feet again, I can laugh about certain things," she recently admitted. "So, lots of little stories about losing my hair, being sectioned, all sorts of little funny things. Hopefully people will enjoy it."
We certainly will and can’t wait to see the performance! To hear more from Gail, have a listen to our latest ‘egg talks to…’ podcast with head egg Kylie. A frank, funny and deep conversation about the highs and lows of being a media personality, her love of giving back, the death of her parents and her music taste. Get ready to laugh along and fall for the charm of Gail Porter.
