And the good news is, you’ve got a chance to meet them, and our egg Head Kylie Reid too, in the beautiful city of Dundee. With a relaxed interview style, Kylie will dive into the details of what it’s like running a successful business and make sure to get all our eggs some top tips about balancing life, motherhood and your career.

We know our eggs will love this, and it’s a great step forward to breaking down barriers for women. We’re also really proud to say this event series is supported by the Scottish Government Pathways Pre-Start Fund, and RBS.

Who’s who?
Anja Baak - Owner of Great Glen Charcuterie
After moving to Scotland from the Netherlands a few years prior, in 2003 Anja and her husband Jan Jacobs took a leap of faith and started their own small business trading from Roy Bridge, a rural community deep in the Scottish Highlands. Their product was wild Scottish venison, locally sourced from across the Highlands. And it was a hit! They’ve won various Great Taste awards and have amassed a loyal following on Instagram along the way too.
Samantha Paton - Director and Founder of Isolated Heroes
Founded in 2012, Sam is the queen of sass who saw a gap in the market for sustainable partywear pieces for all shapes and sizes. From their design studio in Dundee, they’ve created a space and opportunity for freelancers and graduates in the fashion industry to flourish north of the border. The brand now counts Miley Cyrus, Paloma Faith, Pixie Lott, Becky Hill and Sophie Hannah amongst its growing international client base, and they’ve got a whopping 40% customer return rate through their #sequinsquad community. For our avid egg fans, you might recognise Sam from our George Street pop-up shop in Edinburgh in 2022.
Kylie Reid - egg Head
Hopefully a familiar name to lots of you already, Kylie is our very own trailblazer who is the founder of egg. You can read her story on our website to get to know her a little better. But in the meantime, she'll be gearing up to interview these two female powerhouses about their careers, learnings and top tips for eggs. Sure to make you laugh, Kylie is the ultimate chilled-out host at events and you'll feel right at home straight away.
The nitty gritty details - when, where, who, dress code?
- Where? We're delighted to be hosting the event in Dundee Contemporary Arts - a cool venue turned cinema in central Dundee. It's set to be a really inspiring space for us all to come together.
- Who? The event is open to everyone (that means paying members and non-members). We want our 'Women on Top' series to reach as many good eggs as possible.
- When? Taking place from 10am - 12pm, we'll have tea, coffee and pastries available.
- Dress code? We're a relaxed and friendly bunch, so there's no dress code. Just be yourself. Although, we think you’ll score some bonus points with Sam if you pull out some sequins from your wardrobe for this one…!
How does the childcare service work?
- Our partners at Tinies will be there on the day in a separate room nearby to look after your little ones.
- Children between 0-10 years are welcome
- You’ll need to pack lunch for your mini eggs, and enough nappies and wipes to last a few hours.
- And yep, it's paid for by us already so there's no extra costs to mums!
