Setting up and standing out  - meet two Perth locals who set up and bossed their own businesses!

eggs - we've now sold out of childcare so it's adults only!

Question: Do you want to know how to create a new brand with a strong image and loyal fan base in Scotland, and worldwide?

Answer: Of course you do! Our event speakers, Rachel Rowley and Jade Robertson, have done just that with their clothing and hospitality businesses and they’re here to tell you their stories.

We’re running our first egg event in Perth, and we’d love for our community to join this inspiring morning. Designed as an interactive, interview-style event, you’ll have a chance to ask questions and chat to other like-minded women from Perthshire. Our egg head and queen of brilliant interviews, Kylie Reid (did you know she just interviewed Lorraine Kelly in Edinburgh about her new book?! What a claim to fame) will dive into the details of what it’s like running a successful business and make sure to get our eggs some top tips about balancing life, motherhood and your career.

Time for a quick pat on the back moment… Firstly, we’re delighted to offer free childcare at this event through our partners, Tinies. We know our eggs will love this, and it’s a great step forward to breaking down barriers for women. We’re also really proud to say this event series is supported by the Scottish Government Pathways Pre-Start Fund, and RBS.

Let’s get into it then, shall we?

Who’s who?

Rachel Rowley - Founding Partner of Ballintaggart (until 2023) and PR/Marketing guru

We’re sure lots of our Perth eggs will know Ballintaggart Farm and its sister, Grandtully Hotel, already. But for those of you who don’t, we’ll try to sum up this incredible place: a rural and refined destination in highland Perthshire, famed for its outstanding Scottish food and drink, boutique rooms, fine food shop and cookery school. Rachel was one of the founding partners who set the whole thing up in 2016! Now featured on the Michelin Guide, Condé Nast traveller magazine, The Good Hotel Guide and The Good Food Guide, and with AA four stars and 2 rosettes for culinary excellence under their belt, it’s safe to say they’ve built a reputation as one of the top foodie places to stay in Scotland.

With a background in PR, in 2023 Rachel transitioned to become the new Head of Partnerships for ‘and.’, a business consultancy based in Dunkeld.

Jade Robertson - Co-Founder and Creative Director of Little Lies

In 2015, Jade and her husband poured their love of rock’n’roll music into creating a new indie clothing brand called Little Lies, and ran it out of their bedroom in central Scotland. Now counting Denise Van-Outen and Helena Bonham Carter as some of their celebrity clients, their brand has gone from strength to strength and they now have their own HQ in Glencarse, Perth. Since early 2023, Little Lies has progressed from sourcing and stocking styles from wholesalers and has begun the transformation into an entirely own label brand.

Kylie Reid - egg Head

Hopefully a familiar name to lots of you already, Kylie is our very own trailblazer who is the founder of egg. You can read her story on our website to get to know her a little better. But in the meantime, she'll be gearing up to interview these two female powerhouses about their careers, learnings and top tips for eggs. Sure to make you laugh, Kylie is the ultimate chilled-out host at events and you'll feel right at home straight away.

The nitty gritty details - when, where, who, dress code?

  • Where? We're delighted to be hosting the event in Perth Art Gallery, which is set to be a really inspiring space for us all to come together.
  • Who? The event is open to everyone (that means paying members and non-members). We want our 'Women on Top' series to reach as many good eggs as possible.
  • When? Taking place from 10am - 12pm, we'll have tea, coffee and pastries available.
  • Dress code? We're a relaxed and friendly bunch, so there's no dress code. Just be yourself.

How does the childcare service work?

  • Our partners at Tinies will be there on the day in a separate room nearby to look after your little ones.
  • Children between 0-10 years are welcome
  • You’ll need to pack lunch for your mini eggs, and enough nappies and wipes to last a few hours.
  • And yep, it's paid for by us already so there's no extra costs to mums!

If you have any other questions, you can always drop us an email on [email protected].ukand we'll come back to you. If not, we can't wait to see you there!
